Our Story
Meet Kate, the Founder and Artist of Mind Over Matter (M.O.M.) and The Yigosflower
Kate, the creative force behind Mind Over Matter and The Yigosflower, is a stay-at-home mom and part-time photographer with a passion for crafting sentimental keepsakes. Whether through printed art or wearable jewelry, Kate channels her artistry into preserving cherished memories. An internationally published photographer and model, her work has graced local galleries and collectives, showcasing her ability to capture the beauty of newborns and surreal, whimsical portraits.
Her journey into jewelry making began with motherhood, as she sought to immortalize the fleeting stages of her children’s lives. Breastfeeding, a milestone close to her heart, inspired Kate to create tangible keepsakes. Over the past decade, she has meticulously researched and developed eco-friendly methods for preserving breast milk in jewelry, ensuring her pieces are free of unnecessary chemicals, fillers, or tints.
Kate's second line, inspired by nature, blossomed from her and her husband Christopher’s beekeeping hobby, which started in 2013. Originally branded as Milk and Honey, Kate rebranded to Mind Over Matter for a unique identity. Her nature-inspired pieces incorporate elements like bees, combs, and flowers, all handpicked and inspected by Kate herself.
Beyond jewelry, Kate’s artistic ventures extend to sculptures and other artworks, including pieces made from bones and other curiosities. Her canvases and prints often feature scenes from her Midwestern hometown, capturing the essence of her backyard’s natural beauty.
Kate welcomes custom designs and unique ideas, collaborating closely to bring your vision to life. Explore her extraordinary creations and add a one-of-a-kind piece to your collection.
